The Australian Government is changing the Child Support Scheme to ensure it meets the best interests of the children, better balances the interests of parents and reflects today’s community. The new Scheme also aims to better reflect the costs of children. The reforms adopt recommendations made in The Ministerial Taskforce on Child Support report, In the Best Interests of Children – Reforming the Child Support Scheme. They are being introduced in three stages over two years.
